Pink floyd animals1/3/2023 ![]() ![]() Waters says that the Animals remaster is now on its way after he agreed to have the liner notes removed instead, he’s posted them on his personal website and noted that they were “fact checked and agreed as factually correct by me, Nick and Gilmour.” No official release date for the remaster has been announced. “But, he has for the last 35 years told a lot of whopping porky pies about who did what in Pink Floyd when I was still in charge.” “Yes he was, and is, a jolly good guitarist and singer,” Waters wrote. Waters goes on to accuse Gilmour of exaggerating his contributions to the era of Pink Floyd during which Animals and many of their other albums were created. He does not dispute the veracity of the history described in Mark’s notes, but he wants that history to remain secret.” ![]() Gilmour has vetoed the release of the album unless these liner notes are removed. Per Waters: “These mixes have languished unreleased because of a dispute over some sleeve notes that Mark Blake has written for this new release. Last night, Waters posted a statement on his website in which he says that the delay was caused by an issue Gilmour has with the album’s liner notes, which were written by British journalist Mark Blake. ![]() Waters has talked about it a number of times in the press, including with Rolling Stone in 2020 when he blamed Gilmour and Nick Mason for the hold up: “Can we release the remastered vinyl of Animals without it turning into the third World War?” he said at the time. For the past few years, Roger Waters and David Gilmour have been at an impasse over the release of a long-delayed remastered reissue of Pink Floyd’s 1977 album Animals. ![]()
